The Dirty Word in Fitness - Flexibility
The stereotypical man wants to lift heavy weights, drink beer, and watch sports. Right? Well, I think we can all agree that many stereotypes are just plain wrong. However, when it comes to fitness, many men still fail to focus on flexibility nearly as much as they need to on a regular basis. Women tend to knock this aspect of fitness out of the park, but many people still struggle with finding motivation to stretch.
Tips for Men and Flexibility:
- Try a yoga class...even if it is just one!
- Try 5 minutes of stretching after your normal workouts...it will add up over the long term.
- Stretch in the evenings before going to bed. It can help with flexibility and your quality of sleep.
- Focus on being an athlete. Elite athletes know the importance of flexibility on their performance. Maybe you should too!
